Bring Ireland’s social history to life with a private talk or workshop tailored to your group, organisation or event. Robyn has almost two decades of experience as a history communicator and storyteller.

For those further afield talks can be delivered online and Robyn’s team is fully equipped to deliver top-notch audio and video quality with dedicated equipment and support.

  • Robyn delivers talks to groups from a handful of people to a hundred or more.

  • Short notice can sometimes be facilitated but the sooner you get in touch the sooner Robyn can get your event pencilled into the diary.

  • This is often possible, especially if your area happens to contain a workhouse.

  • This is usually OK subject to some conditions. If you do want to sell tickets to your event this should be agreed at time of booking.

Frequently Asked Questions - Private Tours

Robyn is an experienced and fully-insured tour guide providing bespoke, all-ability walking tours. Historical tours are arranged for all kinds of groups - current and retired work colleagues, church and community groups, families both local and visiting, tourists and all manner of clubs and associations.

  • Generally between 2 and 20 people is good, Robyn feels it’s best not to exceed 25 people on a tour as it can be a little crowded.

  • Absolutely. That being said, history wasn’t always pleasant, so some parental discretion is advised. The youngest future historian to attend one of Robyn’s tours so far was 10 - Hi Lily!

    Robyn even has tours specifically designed for children.

  • The tours are designed for groups of mixed ability and are suitable for users of mobility aides. Mobile voice amplification is used on all tours, and the group proceeds at whatever speed allows the group to stay together, so no one feels rushed.

    All tours are around 90 minutes long with lots of stops. Some people bring folding seats for comfort.

  • A cancelled tour can be rescheduled to suit your group, but if you have to cancel Robyn asks for 3 days’ notice.
